-- Staff Sergeant Peter Montague, Chief RCMP Media Liaison Officer for B.C. This was Sergeant Montague's response on or around August 25, 1995, to an enquiry from Sergeant Dennis Ryan concerning the Gustafsen Lake siege.

"...kill this [Dr. Bruce] Clark and smear the prick and everyone with him."
-- Chief RCMP negotiator Sergeant Dennis Ryan. He was paraphrasing Superintendent Len Olfert's instructions to the RCMP Management Team at a meeting on or around August 29, 1995, during the Gustafsen Lake siege. Dr. Clark had just returned from the camp with physical evidence indicating that RCMP had fabricated a shooting incident.
