British Columbia's NDP government is steadfastly refusing to deal with a growing call at home and abroad for a public inquiry into all aspects of the Gustafsen Lake matter - including that government's involvement in the 1995 attack on Indigenous Shuswap Sundancers - the largest paramilitary operation in Canadian history, involving massive human rights violations.
Earlier today, CFUV's John Shafer put the question to Steve Orcherton, NDP Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Victoria-Hillside riding:
CFUV: "So Steve, when is the NDP going to call a public inquiry into Gustafsen Lake...?"
Steve Orcherton, NDP MLA: (nervous laughter)"...Oh...we've got lots of things to work on ... but thanks for the comment, though..."(walks away)
