Y2K: THE YEAR 2000 & POSSIBLE COMPUTER FAILURES

There has been a great deal of press coverage about the "Y2K disaster". Projections vary from a minor inconvenience to a major disaster.

In December 1998, the Canadian government announced that the Canadian army has been ordered to be on standby, and that the government is preparing to use the Emergency Measures Act (which suspends some constitutional rights in order to control the general population via the military/police). Given this nightmare scenario, we feel it is important for people to become as educated about Y2K as possible, and assess how their activism will be affected in addition to planning resources to support each other through whatever the government institutes.
