On the third anniversary of Canada's 'Indian Summer' and the use of armed and deadly force against Indigenous protesters at Stoney Point and Gustafsen Lake, Alexa Mcdonough, national leader of the New Democratic Party, has added her name to those calling for an inquiry into both standoffs.
McDonough was asked for her support during the national CBC open-line call in program Cross-Country Checkup. She stated that the inquiry call "was a correct call" and she supported it "without hesitation."
Both the NDP government of British Columbia and the Harris Conservative government of Ontario are thus far refusing inquiries, despite a growing call both at home and abroad.
